MOVIES NOW (SUMMER 2007) – INSIDERS' GUIDE

A veritable insiders’ guide to movies presented by Andrew L. Urban, Movies Now offers participants a series of previews of upcoming films, followed by a discussion, usually with the filmmaker/s. A choice of two venues are offered for the summer course of Movies Now in 2007 through Sydney University’s Centre for Continuing Education: Dendy Newtown.

The sessions explore the background of the film, gain additional insider information and generally dissect the contents. The films are selected by Urban from the upcoming release schedule, drawn from a mix of mainstream and arthouse / foreign language films, and are not announced in advance, to minimise outside influences on participants. Movies Now was launched in July 2005.

Each course runs for six Wednesday evenings:

Accompanying material will include production notes and selected articles as relevant. Participants must be 18 years or over.
