WITLESS PROTECTION: DVD

SYNOPSIS:
When a beautiful blonde (Ivana Milicevic) turns up at his smalltown's café escorted by four men in black, Deputy Sheriff Larry (Larry the Cable Guy) figures they've kidnapped her and jumps to the rescue - hoping perhaps to finally make a splash and become an FBI agent hisself ... but things aren't quite what they seem and the woman is set to testify against her crooked boss (Peter Stormare) in Chicago, unless of course she is kidnapped and protected. But by who?

Review by Andrew L. Urban:
Witless, lowbrow fun is the signature of this so-so comedy with Larry the Cable Guy in fine fat form as a country bumpkin deputy sheriff with delusions of grander than smalltown cop. Determined to rescue a blonde riding with men in black, Larry fumbles into an FBI witness protection plan to get Madeleine (Ivana Milicevic) to a Chicago court to testify against her former bosses. His instincts are right, though; it's the Friggin' Baddies Interests that's at work .... For big baddie (Peter Stormare in bad form).

Strictly for fans of Larry, this caper relies on his bodily dysfunctions, his blubber and his characteristic misspeaks for its humour. There is little tension in the comedy, since there is nothing at stake, since there is nothing that's real. Rude, crude and tasteless, it's an ideal DVD for beer-soaked pizza nights with fart-lighting friends. Git R Done, as Larry would say.
