24/2/22011: ABBIE GETS LUCKY IN A BIG CITY

The screening of the short film, Abbie, was intended as a reward for everyone who worked on the film, as well as supporters, by filmmakers Erin Good [writer/ director] and Taylor Litton-Strain [producer] at Sydney’s Metro Screen: It was an exclusive screening before we started sending copies to festivals,” Taylor explains. “One of our guests happened to be an employee from QANTAS. The airline contacted us shortly after to ask for a screener and then offered to acquire the film for their in-flight entertainment program.”

The film follows the endearing and unconventional Abbie as she embarks on her first day at work in a dystopian corporate office. It was shot in High Definition and mixes live action with animation.

“Being granted the First Break funding has given me the experience, confidence and credibility as a filmmaker. Metro Screen provided funding, training, support and publicity, everything I needed for my first break,” says Erin Good.

Abbie screened with other Metro Screen First Break films at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington on Wednesday February 23.
