Melbourne based Australian Film Critics Association (AFCA) has voted The Sapphires Best Australian Film, with Hugo winner of Best Overseas Film (English langauge ) and A Separation winner of Best Overseas Film (Foreign language) – but Cate Lore was voted Best Director for Lore..
During a ceremony in Melbourne, attended by the ‘who’s who’ of the local filmmaking community including Alan Finney and renowned filmmaker Philippe Mora, the winners were announced – and celebrated.
