HITCHCOCK EXTENDED AT ORPHEUM

Old Hitch continues to draw audiences and Sydney’s Orpheum has been besieged to screen one of his most eerie and memorable films which was not included in the recent (July 21 – August 10, 2016) highly successful Hitchcock festival – The Birds, starring Rod Taylor and Tippi Hedren.

Happily responding to the demand, the Orpheum has programmed The Birds for two screenings (Sat/Sun, Aug 20/21) at 1.10pm to be followed by more screenings of the documentary, Hitchcock/Truffaut, at 3.40pm.

“What makes Hitchcock/Truffaut appealing to audiences is its humanity and its down to earth conversation about the human condition. Even those who have scant knowledge of filmmaking or are not familiar with Hitchcock's work, should find it engaging, and no doubt would feel encouraged to seek out some of the films explored, not least Vertigo and Psycho, two of the films in which the film takes special interest.” Andrew L.
