MLJ's partycam footage also shows documentary makers, Assassin Films, a New Zealand based independent film company, looking to uncover the real hobbit - “Is the hobbit just a fictional character conjured up by the imagination of author JRR Tolkien, or does he really exist”? Assassin Films have set out to find the answer and have appropriately named their feature length documentary “Searching for the Hobbit”, which will begin screening at festivals later this year (2001).
