CROWE, RUSSELL: ON A BEAUTIFUL MIND AND TEXAS

FROM TEXAS TO NASH –VILLE
In this extensive and exclusive interview, Russell Crowe talks to Andrew L. Urban first about Texas, the “rude and irreverent” doco he’s produced of his band, Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts, which has its world premiere this month at Sundance. In the second half of the interview, the conversation turns to his latest film, A Beautiful Mind, in which he plays John Forbes Nash, the Nobel Prize winning mathematics genius - and schizophrenic.

Thirty-Odd Foot of Grunts: Texas – this 78 minute documentary was made in 2001 and according to the credits, it’s directed ‘By Circumstance’ of Russell’s band during the recording sessions (in Texas) for their debut US album, Bastard Life or Clarity (Artemis Records). Texas is to have an Australian release during 2002.

The film will have a special screening in the highly prestigious Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2002.


A Beautiful Mind opens in Australia on March 7, 2002
