MOVIES THIS WEEK ON TWO CHANNELS
Now you can watch Urban Cinefile’s reviews on television: MOVIES THIS WEEK, a concise, comprehensive 5-minute weekly prime time movie review program is broadcast on Ovation and World Movies subscription TV channels. It is presented by Andrew L. Urban and Louise Keller.

Movies This Week airs on World Movies at 8.25 pm on Thursdays and 6.35pm on Saturdays, from September 30 and on Ovation at 6.55pm and 8.25 pm on Fridays, from October 1, 2004. Each program is repeated by both channels over the weekend.

"Urban Cinefile is in the business of movie reviews and our movie-loving audience will value this quality and accessible source of information about what's currently on at the cinema," said Jacqui Feeney, CEO of the World Movies Channel. In each Movies This Week Andrew and Louise will review an average of four new release movies showing at cinemas in Australia.

"the highest quality and widest ranging arts and entertainment programming on Australian television"

“Ovation and World Movies deliver the highest quality and widest ranging arts and entertainment programming on Australian television. We are very proud and excited to be making a weekly review program for their discerning viewers,” said Andrew. “Two highly compatible channels working together is an innovative strategy for subscription TV.”

Urban Cinefile, established in 1997, won the 1998 Telstra/Financial Review Internet Award as Best Arts & Entertainment site. The website attracts some 10,000 dedicated movie lovers each week, and also syndicates movie reviews, interviews and other movie related material to major internet portals Telstra and Optus, as well as internet search giant Yahoo. “This is probably the first time a professional internet publication has spawned a television program,” said Andrew, “and we’re looking forward to making it exciting and entertaining.”

Andrew L. Urban conceived and launched Urban Cinefile in 1997. Andrew has been Channel Host for World Movies since 2002 and has completed 9 series of Front Up (prime time social documentary series on SBS). Louise was formerly a professional singer for 14 years, and was hostess of a Logie-winning children’s television program.
