Movie reviews:
COSMOPOLIS
(US, 2012) Dir: David Cronenberg. Stars Robert Pattinson, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Paul Giamatti. "I had hoped the film would engage me more and turn into something fascinating, intriguing and magical - it is not quite any of those things," says Andrew. "Cosmopolis is a film that invites analysis, discussion and opinion. Like unfulfilled sex, it may not totally satisfy, but there is much to mull over and contemplate," says Louise.

OWLS IN ARMOUR
A spectacular book is now available from Sydney based digital powerhouse Animal Logic, featuring the digitally generated images the company created that brought to life the imaginary world of Ga'hoole for their epic animated adventure, The Legend of the Guardians; the Owls of Ga'hoole. Andrew L. Urban steps into this unique world via its pages.

Movie reviews:
ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER 3D
(US, 2012) Dir: Timur Bekmambetov. Stars Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell, Marton Csokas. "..there is just not enough substance to it. Lots of graphic, slo-mo blood spills, big battle scenes and gunfire, axe-wielding Abe chopping down the vampires (albeit often in a blur of action we can't really relish)," says Andrew. "...whatever clever literary concepts screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith has adapted from his novel, has been well and truly stomped on . a rampage of vampiric bloody gore is a special effects feast that rides on the coattails of a strident music score," says Louise.

Movie reviews:
STEP UP 4: MIAMI HEAT 3D
(US, 2012) Dir: Scott Speer. Stars Kathryn McCormick, Ryan Guzman, Adam G. Sevani. "Using contempo flash mob dazzle with eye-boggling dance routines laced with sensuality ... the film delivers everything you expect and plenty more. It's hot in Miami and the dance moves sizzle," says Louise.

Movie reviews:
JO NESBO'S JACKPOT
(Norway, 2011) Dir: Magnus Martens. Stars Kyrre Hellum, Henrik Mestad, Marie Blokhus, Mads Ousdal, Andreas Cappelen. "The outrageous nature of the story is balanced by the matter of fact naturalistic performances and the smart directing, which makes the most of the genre's edgiest tools," says Andrew. "The Scandinavians do black comedy well and if you're a lover of the genre, you're on a winning ticket with Joe Nesbo's Jackpot," says Louise.

UPCOMING FILMS
[Coming soon, Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom, starring Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Jared Gilman, Kara Hayward. "Anderson uses everything at his command to create a visceral experience that is more satisfying and complete than many movies achieve in 3D," says Andrew. "Through its candy-coloured surrealism, there's a simple, child-like innocence about this quirky film ... whose quiet charm is permeated by whimsy," says Louise.]
List of films releasing soon.

DVDS THIS WEEK
A DANGEROUS METHOD
Stars Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Vincent Cassel. ". the impact of sex is examined from different angles. It's a fascinating film, not the least being for the extraordinarily subtle, yet potent performance by Viggo Mortensen," says Louise.

GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE
Stars Nicolas Cage, Ciaran Hinds, Idris Elba, Violante Placido, Jacek Koman. "Industrial strength sci-fi horror with a pungent spirituality wafting through it," says Andrew.

WRATH OF THE TITANS
Stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Rosamund Pike, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy. ".. ends up sounding and looking silly for the most part, rather than an inspirational drama about fathers and sons at war and redeeming each other," says Andrew.

THE DEEP BLUE SEA
Stars Rachel Weisz, Tom Hiddleston, Simon Russell Beale. ". a film for those willing to be seduced into a specific emotional place, where images, ideas and thoughts swirl around," says Louise.

DR SEUSS' THE LORAX
Voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Betty White, Ed Helms, Danny DeVito, Rob Riggle. "...clever combo of fantasy characters and plot, environmental issues ahead of its time and the universal truth that one small action by an individual can precipitate change," says Louise.
