Movie review:
TRAINWRECK
(US, 2015) Dir: Judd Apatow. Stars Amy Schumer, Bill Hader, Brie Larson. "Fresh and funny, Trainwreck steams into the station, bringing with it high energy, wit, all shades of humour and an endearing brashness common to the Judd Apatow brand of romcom. As for Schumer, she sparkles throughout in her chaotic, brutally honest and unselfconscious way," says Louise.

Movie review:
LAST CAB TO DARWIN
(Aust, 2015) Dir: Jeremy Sims Stars Michael Caton, Ningali Lawford-Wolf, David Field, John Howard and Jackie Weaver. "It's well meaning and there is no shortage of heart, yet Jeremy Sims' film never quite delivers the warm package it intends. To its credit, it excels at observations of Australian culture, attitudes and behavior, but false notes prise us out of the overlong narrative," says Louise.

UPCOMING FILMS
[Coming in October, Alex & Eve, starring Richard Brancatisano and Andrea Demetriades. "With its upbeat vibe and charismatic leads, there's something irresistible about this laugh-out loud cross-culture Aussie rom com," says Louise.]

At a glance:
TOP 20
Short and sweet (or not) opinions on the most popular current releases. An easy reference for choosing which movie to see tonight or tomorrow or right now! (Occasionally we also slip in a few of our favourites if they don't make the top 20)

NEW DVDS:
DIVERGENT INSURGENT
Stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort. "Kate Winslet as the villainous, power-hungry, ice-cool blonde is the best thing in this overlong sequel," says Louise.

SAMBA
Stars Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg. "The delightful push-pull pairing of Omar Sy and Charlotte Gainsbourg makes this bittersweet comi-drama about connections a rich and engaging experience," says Louise.

BLACK SEA
Stars Jude Law, Scoot McNairy. "It's an explosive journey filled with tension, keeping us on tenterhooks throughout," says Louise.

Competition winners:
PERFECT PITCH 1 & 2
To win one of 10 DVD Double Packs courtesy Universal Sony Pictures Entertainment, we asked: Among family and friends, with whom do you enjoy the sweetest harmony and why? Roberto: My girlfriend - in the bedroom - we are in tune with each other and make such sweet music together ... we have recording equipment and musical instruments there ... what were you thinking?

EGER - HUNGARY
Famous for its Bull's Blood, but the blood of the Hungarian heroes of the 16th century siege of Eger by Ottoman Turks also runs in its veins, and now there is also chocolate, as Andrew L. Urban found on his visit.
