Movie reviews:
THE DRESSMAKER
(Aus, 2015) Dir: Jocelyn Moorhouse. Stars Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving, Judy Davis, Sarah Snook. "I wanted to like the film more, but the in-your-face tone kept me at arm's length," says Louise. "Moorhouse has a clear vision for the material and a great team to help her achieve it," says Andrew.

Movie review:
MISTRESS AMERICA
(US, 2015) Dir: Noah Baumbach. Stars Greta Gerwig, Lola Kirke. "The energy levels soar and the snappy dialogue flows like a river in a hurry to reach the sea, in this blend of buddy movie and screwball comedy," says Louise.

Movie review:
SLEEPING WITH OTHER PEOPLE
(US, 2015) Dir: Leslye Headland. Stars Alison Brie, Jason Sudeikis. "It’s derivative, misconceived and in poor taste, although Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie are so appealing that it is easy to momentarily be seduced by the film. In part, at least," says Louise.

UPCOMING FILMS
[Coming in December, Youth starring Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, Paul Dano, Jane Fonda. "It is the scale and sheer audacity of Paolo Sorrentino's seductive drama that elevates it into a class of its own," says Louise.]

TOP 20
Short and sweet (or not) opinions on the most popular current releases. An easy reference for choosing which movie to see tonight or tomorrow or right now! (Occasionally we also slip in a few of our favourites if they don 't make the top 20)

NEW DVDS:
LOVE & MERCY
Stars Paul Dano, John Cusack, Elizabeth Banks, Paul Giamatti. "To describe it in musical terms, the film can switch from major to minor key in seconds," says Louise.

TERMINATOR GENISYS
Stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons. "Arnold Schwarzenegger is the best thing in the film, offering generous doses of self-deprecating humour, and miraculously appearing in different guises at different ages," says Louise.

Competition winners:
MAGIC MIKE XXL
To win DVD copies, courtesy Roadshow Home Entertainment, we asked: Who among family and friends has 'all the moves' and what are they or why do they work? Kevin Nathan (NSW): My brother can juggle three beer glasses. Okay; they are empty, but he dazzles a party audience. His glasses don’t stay empty for long. People clap, cheer, then buy him drinks!
